Having travelled to thirty-four countries with the majority of the time spent in Japan, this Australian native knows a thing or two about beauty and how to achieve that typical California look.

“Energy is everything and that’s truly what makes a photo shoot amazing because for it to be perfect and to achieve that perfect image, you have to have an amazing collaboration of everybody’s energy – leave your ego at the door.” This is Moses’ key to success when working on photo shoots with photographers.

Moses was born and raised in Australia, from where she went on to finish her studies in Denmark. Her creative appetite led her to Japan where she spent five years honing her skills and fell in love with Japanese beauty products. “Shiseido is one of my favourite lines. To this day, I still pretty much use all of the eye creams. Japanese products in general are some of the best,” she explains.

She has worked with celebrities from Paris Hilton to musical talents such as Australia’s sweetheart Delta Goodrem to the king of rock and roll’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, and has switched gears to work on top fashion campaigns for Italian Vogue, Cosmo, UK’s In Style and GQ.  How does she prep for each shoot?  “I have a good ability of reading people very quickly and learning how to manoeuvre around to make whoever is in my chair feel very comfortable… my actual creative process doesn’t even really start until that person is in front of me and bare faced.”

Now living in LA, Moses recommends using a good SPF on the face such as her favourite beauty brands Clarins and Shiseido. And how does one achieve a laid-back California look?  She suggests using, “Just a nice mineral powder all over with a bit of bronzer, a lip gloss and a little bit of mascara – you can’t get any better than that. Oh, of course, concealer, depending on how dark you are under the eye area – that’s essential!” When asked what would be that one product she could have if she was stranded on an island, she replied – “it would be mascara!”
